The Allendale Columbia senior wins the Class C title and finishes third overall at the Section 5 individiual tournament on Saturday at Ridgemont Country Club. Pittsford Sutherland junior Doug Kulikowski wins the overall title after shooting a 76.
The Greece Olympia boys track and field team left no doubt as to which squad was the cream of the crop on Saturday at the Monroe County League Championship meet held at Hilton High School. The Spartans amassed 103 total points — more than 40 points better than the next closest team — to claim the league title.
On the girls side, the story was much more of a nail-biter. Penfield had just enough — half of a point — to hold off the host Cadets. The Patriots finished with 66.5 points, nipping Hilton and it’s 66-point total. Pittsford Mendon came in third (57.5), followed by Rush-Henrietta (49), Spencerport (48), Webster Schroeder (48), Canandaigua (47), Gates Chili (46), Honeoye Falls-Lima (44) and Pittsford Sutherland (40).
The Wayne-Finger Lakes League Championships belonged to the Wayne Eagles as both the boys and girls teams won league titles Friday night in the league’s East Division. The boys finish the season with a perfect 47-0 record while the girls finish the season with a near-flawless 46-1 record. The Marion girls team also won the West division championship.
