Last June I applauded Congresswoman Kathy Hochul for voting to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt for failing to turn over documents connected to operation “Fast and Furious,” an ill-conceived gun running program that cost Border Patrolman Brian Terry his life.

Since then Hochul has remained silent, never once demanding that the Terry family get the answers they deserve. Why?

A look at Hochul’s voting record shows she voted the party line over 80 percent of the time and most other votes were on bills destined to pass or fail overwhelmingly no matter which way she voted.

With an election looming, it seems Kathy Hochul voted for the Holder contempt citation in order to strengthen her conservative credential before the election, not to help the grieving Terry family in their time of need.

We need principled representation that will set political expediency aside and do the right thing. Kathy Hochul has shown she is not that person.

Chris Collins can provide the principled leadership we deserve. Unlike Hochul, he will work across party lines to get our economy going. He understands the issues and has a proven track record of creating jobs. I urge you to support Chris Collins for Congress in the 27th district.
