Mr. Michael McDermott stated in the July 12 Greece Post, “the weeds are so tall at the 390 southbound exit ramps to Latta Road and Ridge Road West that you almost have to put the nose of your vehicle into oncoming traffic to see if there is anyone approaching.” I wholeheartedly agree! I explained the dangerous situation caused by the high weeds at the 390 southbound exit ramp onto Ridge Road West when I telephoned my state senator's office on July 25, 2011 and Aug. 2, 2011. I spoke, in person, with the senator at the Greece Senior Center on March 16, 2012. I stressed that the tall, dead weeds made it extremely difficult to be certain that it is safe to turn east onto Ridge Road West from the 390 southbound exit ramp. I sent the senator a certified letter on March 22, 2012 reminding him of our conversation.

The results of my efforts are obvious — no action was taken! The 2011 weeds have now joined forces with the 2012 weeds to further impede the vision of drivers.

I suggest that the senator and his staff donate a few of their leisure hours from April through November each year to keep exit ramps clear of weeds and post signs to inform the public of their actions! It may save a life or two and also generate additional votes from appreciative drivers!
