I think I speak for a lot of Irondequoit residents when I talk about the condition of Ridge Road East. From St. Paul Boulevard and beyond to Culver Road, it looks and feels like a side road through Afghanistan. No wonder there are a lot of banks and auto repair shops along that road. Banks to pull your money out of to pay the repair shops for the damage done to your car.

That road is atrocious. It’s filled with multiple pot holes, uneven cracks, bumps and breaks, and the manholes seem to be 6 inches under the level of the roadway. I drive that road almost every day as do hundreds of other people, and I’m constantly weaving around all the damage to the road. Look at Monroe Avenue in front of Pittsford Plaza. A perfectly good road, and I bet they have twice the traffic. Could there be a reason for that?

There cannot be a worse road in Monroe County. Who is in charge of getting this fixed? Obviously it’s not somebody that travels Ridge Road a lot. Do I have to buy a tank to travel to the bank or get a burger?
