The Team Josh Back the Blue Bash will be held from noon to 9:30 p.m. Saturday, July 8, at the Granger Homestead.

The Ontario County Sheriff’s General Unit is partnering with the Canandaigua YMCA to honor the late Sheriff’s Deputy Joshua Shaver and help his wife and two young children.

The Team Josh Back the Blue Bash will be held from noon to 9:30 p.m. Saturday, July 8, at the Granger Homestead.

A planning committee is seeking donations to make the event memorable as well as to provide his surviving family with financial support as they work through their loss. Shaver, a corrections officer, was killed in a car crash in May.

The family-friendly event will include live music and glow balloons. Organizers are seeking help with donations, in-kind donations, entertainment, volunteers, raffle items, and more.

For information, contact Michael Smith, president of the Ontario County Sheriff’s General Unit, or event coordinator Donna Schaertl at 585-481-1871 or teamjosh342@gmail.com.

Monetary donations can be made out and mailed to OCSGU-Team Josh, P.O. Box 676, Canandaigua NY 14424.
