The Hopewell venue is up against the likes of Fenway Park for venue of the year.

HOPEWELL — Make way for the red carpet.

Constellation Brands-Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center is in the top five in the Academy of Country Music’s venue of the year, large category.

Joining CMAC are Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee; Fenway Park in Boston; Klipsch Music Center in Noblesville, Indiana; and Xfinity Center in Mansfield, Massachusetts.

The ACM Industry Awards will be announced Aug. 23 at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.

Ginny Clark, president of CMAC, said in a prepared statement that it truly is an honor to be nominated.

“Outstanding venues are submitted by industry professionals and members of the academy for the industry awards,” Clark said. “It’s impressive for CMAC to be recognized at this level by the Academy of Country Music.”

CMAC was nominated by a prominent agent at Creative Artist Agency who first visited CMAC in 2015 and has since enjoyed many summer nights at the venue with his artists. He has been a champion in the industry for CMAC to drive shows like James Taylor, Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum, Train, and Sam Hunt to the venue.

Hunt and the 15 in a 30 Tour comes to CMAC on July 23. Alternative country artist Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit performs June 29.

CMAC also hosted a benefit show for the Academy of Country Music’s Lifting Lives program, which donates a portion of ticket sales to various nonprofit initiatives that support the arts.

CMAC is really making a name for itself in the industry, said Jim Glancy, president of The Bowery Presents, the venue’s booking agent.

“We hear it every year — tours add a date at CMAC when they can have a day off before or after a show, so they can enjoy a day on Canandaigua Lake or golfing at Bristol Harbour,” Glancy said in a prepared statement. “The venue is first class, and the local community offers something unique. CMAC continues to enhance the experience which drives amazing talent to the venue.”
