Rochester City Ballet will present artistic director David Palmer’s “Green Eggs and Ham” from 2 to 3:30 p.m. March 25 at Cobblestone Arts Center, 1622 state Route 332, Farmington.
The retelling of the classic Dr. Seuss tale will include narration and sign language interpretation to help younger audiences.
RCB will also perform excerpts from “The Princess and the Chocolate Pirates,” the company’s adaptation of “Le Corsaire.” The cast will host an autograph party after the production.
“‘Green Eggs and Ham’ has inspired countless children to read and learn about language,” Palmer said.
Palmer said his wife found the music for “Green Eggs and Ham” at a garage sale, sparking the conception of the ballet that was first presented 2011. It was her idea to include sign language in the production when she was pregnant with the couple’s second child; she hoped to use sign language with the new baby.
“We had such a successful run of ‘The Nutcracker’ at Canandaigua Academy in December,” Palmer said. “We were thrilled to receive the invitation from Cobblestone Arts Center.”
Tickets cost $15.
