A 13-year-old hit by a vehicle Saturday night on Route 96 in Victor remains in guarded condition at Strong Memorial Hospital. The accident happened near Heath Row in the town at about 9:18 p.m.

According to deputies, the bike was headed west on the northernmost shoulder of Route 96. According to witnesses, the bicyclist made a left turn into the westbound lane and into the path of a vehicle driven by Mario M. Torres, 34, of Route 96 in Victor. The teen was struck and ejected from the bicycle, suffering a head injury. The teen was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital by Finger Lakes Ambulance for treatment. Deputies said the teen was not wearing a helmet.

Victor Fire and Ambulance responded and helped at the scene. An investigation continues.
