Victor Farmington Library recently hosted its first silent auction fundraiser to celebrate Valentine’s day.
Community members bid on artwork donated by over 20 local artists during the event, which ended with a meet-the-artist reception on Valentine’s Day. The reception was catered by Friends of the Victor Farmington Library, and patrons received the opportunity to meet the artists.
Community services librarian Tim Niver organized the event, and he was pleased with the results. The library raised over $1,500 from donations from the fundraiser.
“The initial generosity and support from the artists was tremendous, but the results of the auction were equally impressive,” Niver said. “We couldn’t have asked for better results for the first time doing this.”
The silent auction was centered on Love Your Library Month, and the reception had a Valentine’s Day theme.
