GCCC offers ice time for arts center

CANANDAIGUA — More than 200 people attended a free skate the day after Christmas to benefit the Cobblestone Arts Center in Farmington.

The third annual benefit Family Fun Skate also raised more than $1,000 for the arts center, which offers classes and programs for people with developmental disabilities.

Once again, the Greater Canandaigua Civic Center offered two hours of free ice time to help the center, said Shane Fackelman, director of development for Cobblestone.

And skaters from the area and out of town came out to help, as well as enjoy some time on the ice.

“It was a fun event,” Fackelman said.
