Local residents honored by Ontario County Republican Committee
Michelle Finley, of Farmington, and Slagana Mitris, and Kim Reese, of Victor, were recently honored by the Ontario County Republican Committee during its holiday party at the Inn on the Lake in Canandaigua.

Mitris was named chairman of the organization’s new Hospitality Committee.

Finley and Reese were recognized as Committee Persons of the Year.
Dixon Schwabl announces new promotions
Dixon Schwabl, an advertising, marketing and public relations agency based in Victor, recently promoted Kevin Berliner, of Perinton; Ryan Moore, of West Irondequoit; Cassandra Nickels, of Brighton; Rosi Statt, of Victor; and Jenna Van Thof, of Fairport.

Berliner will work with the account, creative and copywriting departments as art director to develop clients’ design visions and brands through web and print mediums. He has more than 11 years of experience in graphic design. Berliner earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in graphic design from Rochester Institute of Technology.

Moore will be responsible for maintaining a high level of quality for all visual work within the creative department as director of design, including posters, fundraising events and integrated ad campaigns. He will be responsible for bringing design ideas and will serve as a mentor for other creative team members. He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in graphic design from RIT.

Nickels will continue her leadership role on accounts as account director, and she will take on greater leadership roles by managing team members and supporting agency initiatives. Nickels has more than 12 years of experience in marketing. She earned her bachelor’s degree from SUNY Brockport and her master’s degree from American University in Washington, D.C. She is an active volunteer for community education, health and nutrition programs.

Statt will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Community Bank N.A. account as account director. She will work with all divisions of the agency to provide strategic leadership and recommendations that serve clients’ needs and business initiatives. Statt received her Bachelor of Arts in communication from SUNY New Paltz.

Van Thof will oversee the development of the agency’s events division as associate vice president of special events, working with the VP of special events to plan existing projects and pursue new business initiatives. She will be responsible for all aspects of event management, including marketing and creative needs, overseeing promotional efforts and publicity and supervising other event team members. Van Thof has nearly eight years in the events and development industries. She received her Bachelor of Science in business with a concentration in marketing from St. John Fisher College.
