Wayne County Action Program, host site agencies and AmeriCorps members recently partnered to create Finger Lakes Living Healthy, a program that will provide resources to those living with the effects of chronic health conditions in Wayne, Ontario, Seneca, Yates and Cayuga counties.
The program will deliver the chronic disease self-management program throughout the region to help people set goals and make step-by-step plans to lead happier, healthier lives. Host sites include community-based organizations, health care providers, human service agencies, residential facilities, educational institutions and county and local government.
AmeriCorps members must be ages 18 and older. They will receive a living allowance while serving 25 hours per week and an Education Award upon completion. Full training will be provided.
Potential members are encouraged to attend an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Jan. 10 at Wayne County Action Program, 159 Montezuma St., Lyons.
