Deputies say Marie Perez of Romulus was traveling on Route 89 when she lost control rounding a curve and had her Ford Focus skid into the path of a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. Perez died at the scene. Her two young children and two others from the truck survived the crash and were transported to the hospital for their injuries.

A 41-year-old in Seneca County died after being involved in a car accident on Saturday.

Marie Perez of Romulus was headed northbound around noon on Route 89 when she lost control rounding a curve and had her Ford Focus skid into the path of a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck.

According to the Seneca County Sheriff's Office, the Focus was left "demolished", while the pickup truck also sustained heavy damage. Perez was declared dead at the scene.

Perez's two young children survived the crash but were transported to the hospital, as were the driver and passenger of the pickup truck.

The road was closed for about four hours, and deputies report that the investigation continues.
