Deputies say 26-year-old Crystal Wood and 55-year-old Courtney Wood fraudulently submitted child care timesheets to the Wayne County Department of Social Services, and received payment for daycare services not provided. According to deputies, the two women also knew of sexual abuse that was being committed on children residing in their home and failed to report and stop the abuse.

Two Lyons women are facing numerous charges, including child endangerment and welfare fraud charges, following an investigation in Wayne County.

Deputies say 26-year-old Crystal Wood and 55-year-old Courtney Wood fraudulently submitted child care timesheets to the Wayne County Department of Social Services, and received payment for daycare services not provided. According to deputies, the two women also knew of sexual abuse that was being committed on children residing in their home and failed to report and stop the abuse. Deputies say the incidents occurred in 2015 and 2016.

Both women were charged with four counts of endangering the welfare of a child, 12 counts of offering a false instrument for filing, welfare fraud, and petit larceny. They were sent to the Wayne County Jail on $2,000 cash/$4,000 bond bail.
