Two adults had minor injuries and a baby secured in a car seat was not hurt

Snowy roads were to blame for an accident on County Road 7 in Manchester Monday about 7:30 a.m. According to Ontario County Sheriff’s deputies, Melissa A. Benjamin, 38, of Red Creek, Wayne County, was driving south on County Road 7 when she lost control of her vehicle on the snow-covered highway and entered a ditch off the northbound shoulder. The vehicle overturned and came to rest on its roof.
Deputies said Benjamin was trapped in the vehicle for a short time. She was taken to Newark-Wayne Community Hospital by Shortsville Ambulance for minor injuries.
A passenger, Leah C. Baldwin, 29, of Red Creek, was taken to the same hospital by Finger Lakes Ambulance for an arm injury, according to deputies. Baldwin’s one-year-old daughter was not injured as she was properly secured into an infant car seat, deputies said.
No tickets were issued. Manchester Fire Department helped at the scene.
