Farmington student earns Alfred State scholarship
Austin Kuter, of Farmington, recently earned an $18,160 All-American Scholarship from Alfred State.
Kuter is slated to graduate in 2017 from Victor Central High School. He intends to enroll in the construction management program at Alfred State.
The scholarship, which provides free board, is awarded to students who earn a minimum 89 high school average through their junior year and who have achieved at least a 1220 combined reading/writing and math new SAT, 1150 combined critical reading and math old SAT or a composite ACT score of 24.
Recipients must maintain a required GPA to continue to receive free board in subsequent semesters.
Dixon Schwabl announces new hires
Dixon Schwabl, a full-service advertising, marketing and public relations agency in Victor, recently announced the hire of Michelle Anlyn, of West Irondequoit, as senior mechanical artist; Kala Gorelick, of Rochester, as digital media coordinator; and Michael Reed, of Hilton, as manager of analytics and automated marketing.
Anlyn will be responsible for versioning and preparing a range of creative tactics for telecommunications campaigns. She has 20 years of experience in graphic design and direct marketing. She earned her bachelor’s in studio art with a concentration in graphic design from Nazareth College.
Gorelick will support digital campaigns and will be responsible for trafficking media and reporting on campaign performances. She previously worked as a junior marketing analyst. She earned her bachelor’s in marketing, advertising and public relations from Rochester Institute of Technology.
Reed will be responsible for developing automated marketing campaigns, using search engine optimization to enhance webpages, monitoring and reporting on advertising campaigns and assisting on new business development proposals. He brings more than 10 years of experience to the team. Reed earned his Bachelor of Music in business from Mansfield University and his Master of Business Administration in marketing and competitive strategy from University of Rochester.
