Bike/walks taking place across upstate spotlight union efforts to support education funding
Bike/walks taking place across upstate spotlight union efforts to support education funding.
New York State United Teachers union will host an event at Union Place in Rochester on Oct. 6 at 5 p.m. when a across-state bike tour will make a stop. The Bike Tour is an upstate version of the Walk to Albany, also occurring, which is pressing lawmakers to "pay the bill" to school districts across the state, according to Rochester and Genesee Valley Area Labor Federation. In addition to the solidarity event at 30 N. Union St., Rochester, Education bike/walks are planned throughout upstate (#EdWalk). Walks will take place in Henrietta, Rochester and Southern Tier.
