Thousands came out Sunday to MCC to “walk for a cure” and raise awareness about Parkinson's Disease.

The event was called Moving Day, and it’s the National Parkinson Foundation's biggest fundraiser here in our area.

The event began Sunday morning with a one mile walk around MCC.

Organizers say the goal is to promote movement because decreased mobility is one of the main symptoms of the disease.

More than 4,000 people live with Parkinson's locally, and about a million people live with it nationwide.
