A registered sex offender has been arrested and charged with rape.
Scott Stanley, of Albion, is charged with one count of second-degree rape and two counts of third-degree rape in Pembroke, Genesee County. He’s also charged with one count of second-degree rape and one count of criminal sexual act in Albion, Orleans County.
Police say Stanley had sexual contact with a 14-year-old female. Stanley has been listed on the state’s sex offender registry as a level 3 sex offender since 2005.
The arrest is the result of a three month investigation by state police.
Stanley was arraigned in the Town of Pembroke Court and was also arraigned in the Town of Ridgeway Court for the charges in the Village of Albion. Stanley is currently being held in the Genesee County Jail.
