The Victor Town Board will host two workshops to review the final draft of the Victor Comprehensive Development Plan from 6-7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 27, and 6-7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 10.
Following the workshops, a public hearing on the proposed final draft of the updated plan has been set for 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 24. The location of both workshops and the public hearing will be Victor Town Hall 85 East Main Street in Victor.
Town Board members have scheduled the workshops in order to provide themselves, Victor residents, and other community stake-holders, with a chance to evaluate the plan in depth prior to the Sept. 24 public hearing.
According to Supervisor Jack Marren, spoken comments from the public will not be accepted during the workshops, but he encouraged the public to submit written comments or questions to the Town Clerk at any time prior to the public hearing on Sept. 24.
Marren said the primary purpose of the workshops is to provide board members an opportunity to discuss the proposed plan in a public forum that is “open and transparent” before approving, accepting or revising it.
The Town’s legal and engineering consultants will be present to answer questions from Town Board members and advise them during their discussions and deliberations.
Following the public hearing, board members may do any or all of the following:
—Request clarification and additional information;
—Develop the process for implementation of the plan;
—Evaluate the merits and impacts of the proposed strategies and recommendations;
—Present personal insights, strategies and recommendations.
Marren said the full text of the proposed final draft of the plan and its supporting documents can be found on the Town of Victor website at www.victorny.org/government/compplan. A hard copy of the final draft plan is also available for revue in the Town Clerk’s office.
