Robbie Elmore of Farmington was sentenced Friday in Ontario County Court to 25 years in state prison, followed by 15 years of post-release supervision.
Elmore was convicted on May 17 in a jury trial on 11 counts of first-, second- and third-degree criminal sexual act, intimidating a victim, and endangering the welfare of a child charges, according to District Attorney R. Michael Tantillo.
Tantillo said Elmore was convicted of repeatedly sexually and physically abusing a young child four to five years ago.
Ontario County Court Judge William R. Kocher sentenced Elmore in the case that was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Jason MacBride. Robert Tucker of Canandaigua was defense counsel.
At the sentencing, MacBride referenced the unspeakable acts of sexual and physical abuse committed by the defendant, praised the victim for the courage she demonstrated in testifying in front of her abuser, and thanked two administrators at Red Jacket Central School who protected and advocated for the victim, calling them her angels.
According to Tantillo, Kocher excoriated the defendant at the sentencing, noting how the school became the victim’s place of refuge, and also thanked the administrators who helped her, and who were present in court for the sentencing.
