Lollypop Farm, the Humane Society of Greater Rochester, will host Barktober Fest 2012 in cooperation with Pet$aver Healthy Pet Superstore this Saturday, Sept. 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Egypt Park and Lollypop Farm, 99 Victor Road, Fairport.

The event will feature a 5-mile race, 1.5-mile walk, and festival for the animals.

The annual family- and pet-friendly event brings thousands of people and pets together to raise much-needed funds to save the lives of homeless and abused pets. As an organization that receives no government support, Lollypop Farm relies on our compassionate community to fund the daily operations of the shelter.

Over 2,000 visitors are expected to enjoy the plentiful family- and animal-oriented activities throughout the day. The Walk for the Animals will feature 400 walkers and their dogs

For more information on the event, visit www.lollypop.org/bfest or call (585) 223-1330.  All proceeds directly benefit the animals at Lollypop Farm.
