A Lyons woman was listed in satisfactory condition Thursday after she was dragged several hundred feet by a spooked horse early Wednesday evening.
Amanda Graber, 76, of 8959 Sunderville Road, and her grandson, Joseph Schmucker, 18, were traveling in a horse and buggy on Lyons Marengo Road when the horse took off, according to Wayne County sheriff’s deputies.
Schmucker was able to jump from the buggy before it tipped over, deputies said.
Neighbors were able to secure the horse.
Graber was taken by Clyde Ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment. Clyde firefighters also responded to the accident, which happened at approximately 5:15 p.m., deputies said.
