Two charged after allegedly helping Phelps girl run away from home

Two Seneca Castle teens were charged Sept. 6 after allegedly helping a 15-year-old Phelps girl run away from home Aug. 31, said Ontario County sheriff’s deputies.

Robert A. Ames, 19, of 2086 Buffalo Street, and Damon L. DeMay of 2090 Buffalo Street were charged with endangering the welfare of a child, police said. According to deputies, DeMay also allegedly had sexual intercourse with the girl and was additionally charged with sexual misconduct.

Both will appear in the Phelps Town Court at a later date.
