The man who brought Mercy Flight to the Rochester area 20 years ago is stepping down.

Paul Hyland has announced his retirement as CEO of Mercy Flight Central in Canandaigua.

Hyland started the air ambulance service in 1992. The critical care air medical service has 50 employees and four aircraft.

A man who was one of the first flight paramedics, Neil Snedeker, will now take over.
