No one was injured after a barn — constructed in the 1860s — caught fire Friday afternoon, at 7575 North Road in Victor.
The call came in at 12:06 p.m. and the fire was under control in 15 minutes, said Andy Stromfeld of the Fishers Fire Department. He added there was an issue with the water supply — there weren’t any fire hydrants in the area — and that delayed the process of extinguishing the blaze.
The three-story barn — a former chicken barn — was recently just used for storage and no living creatures were inside, said owner Rich Cromwell. A garage next to the barn also caught fire.
Stromfield said they are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
The Victor, East Bloomfield, West Bloomfield, Bristol, Ionia, and Bushnell’s Basin fire departments also responded on the scene.
