It’s sectional time for area high school basketball teams. Every team has a chance to lift a Section 5 Championship at the end of the tournament. Here is a look at where all of the local teams stand going into tonight’s games.
BOYS
Bloomfield Bombers
Record: 16-2
Class: C2
Seed: No. 3
Matchup: Bloomfield will face the winner of No. 6 Cal-Mum/No. 11 Marion in the Class C2 quarterfinals on Friday. After suffering their first loss of the season in the sectional finals last year, the Bombers will look to take the next step with a core group of returning players.
Canandaigua Braves
Record: 7-11
Class: AA2
Seed: No. 5
Matchup: The Braves will face No. 4 McQuaid on Friday night. Led by sharpshooter Matt Scharr, Canandaigua has only two players listed taller than 6-4 and must control the boards against the Knights much bigger front court.
Harley-Allendale Columbia
Record: 5-13
Class: C3
Seed: No. 9
Matchup: H-AC will square off against No. 8 Red Jacket on Tuesday night for the third time this season. The Wolves lost the previous two games to their Finger Lakes West division rivals by a combined eight points.
Honeoye Bulldogs
Record: 15-3
Class: C3
Seed: No. 3
Matchup: After earning a first round bye, the Bulldogs will face the winner of No. 6 Clyde-Savannah/No. 11 Kendall on Friday in the quarterfinals. Honeoye is one of five teams from the Finger Lakes league in Class C3 and with a win, could face division foe Dundee in the semifinals, a team they lost to twice this season.
Marcus Whitman Wildcats
Record: 1-17
Class: B2
Seed: No. 10
Matchup: Marcus Whitman will square off against No. 7 Attica on Wednesday night. Despite their record the Wildcats continue to play hard for second-year coach Jason Ellis, and if Attica enters the contest looking ahead to a matchup with No. 2 Wayland-Cohocton they could find themselves making an early exit from the sectional tournament.
Midlakes Screaming Eagles
Record: 7-11
Class: B1
Seed: No. 6
Matchup: The Screaming Eagles hit the road to face No. 3 Pal-Mac on Saturday in the third meeting of the season for these Finger Lakes East foes. Midlakes will need to contain the 3-point shooting of Pal-Mac's Cody Argus, who averaged 21.5 points and hit a combined 12 shots from beyond the arc in the two previous meetings.
Naples Big Green
Record: 6-12
Class: C2
Seed: No. 10
Matchup: The Big Green draw No. 7 Campbell-Savona for their first round game on Tuesday night. After graduating 11 players from last year's team, a win for Naples could be huge for the future post season confidence of the numerous players who will be back in 2012-13.

The Red Raiders rarely lose on their home court and must defeat the Screaming Eagles for a third time this season for their season to continue.
Red Jacket Indians

Class: C3
Seed: No. 8
Matchup: Red Jacket will host No. 9 H-AC on Tuesday night in the teams' third showdown of the season, having won the first two games in exciting fashion. They must have an answer to H-AC's Ingram Miller, who averaged 27 points and 19 rebounds in the first two meetings.
Victor Blue Devils
Record: 6-12
Class: AA2
Seed: No. 6
Matchup: Victor will travel to Spencerport on Friday to face the third-seeded Rangers. The bracket is wide open in Class AA2 with only two teams entering the tournament with a winning record, so if they Blue Devils can find a way to get hot at the right time they may have a chance to make some noise.
GIRLS
Bloomfield Bombers

Seed: No. 6
Matchup: The Bombers lost to No. 11 seed Canisteo-Greenwood (6-13) 39-34 in the first round Saturday. Annie Collins scored 10 points in the game for Bloomfield.
Canandaigua Braves

Seed: No. 10
Matchup: The Braves upset No. 7 seed Brockport (7-12) 51-38 in the first round Saturday. Canandaigua visits No. 2 seed Wilson Magnet (11-6) at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Matchup: Point guard Kayli O’Keefe and the rest of the Wolves host No. 9 seed Bolivar-Richburg (7-12) in the quarterfinals at 7 p.m. Wednesday. O’Keefe is averaging 17.7 points per game and Jenny Scudder is averaging 14 points.

Matchup: The Big Green lost in the first round to No. 7 seed Marion (11-8) 41-30 in the first round Saturday. Kayla VandeSande recorded 16 points and 14 rebounds in the loss.
