What has the power to lure 5,000 people out into the blazing hot sun in 90 degree weather? The annual Farmington Volunteer Fire Association parade does, and proved that fact once again last Friday, Aug. 3. About 80 gleaming units, including eight marching bands, had fans of all ages lining Allen Padgham Road in Farmington for two hours of cheering, waving, whistling, clapping and candy-chasing. Hosted by Farmington Volunteer Fire Department members, the parade is an annual event that is just one of the highlights of a three-day carnival.
