The Victor Food Services Department will host the second annual Community Dinner in the Victor Senior High School Cafeteria on Thursday, Nov. 1 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. directly before the opening night of the High School’s fall play, “The Foreigner,” which begins at 7 p.m.

The harvest meal, which is being held in conjunction with Thompson Health and the School Food Independence Committee, will feature locally sourced foods from a variety of local farms.

Victor’s own “adopted” Chef Michael Speranza, who was invited to the White House in 2010 for the kickoff of First Lady Michelle Obama’s “Chefs Move to Schools” program to help end childhood obesity will also be on hand to help prepare this meal.

This year’s Community Dinner menu features appetizers, pulled pork barbecue, rosemary roasted chicken, garlic mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables and salads, homemade pumpkin bread and fresh apple crisp.

Seating for this special meal is limited. Tickets are currently on sale in all Victor school offices and may be available at the door. General adult tickets are $12 and senior citizen tickets are $10. Children age 4 and younger are free. The Community Dinner is open to anyone interested in attending.

For more information on the Community Dinner, contact Liz Welch or Sherri Lasky in the Office of School and Community Relations at 924-3252, ext. 1407.
