Happening today: Convicted child sex abuser Jerry Sandusky received his sentence this morning: no less than 30 years and no more than 60. Sandusky, 68, likely will serve out the remainder of his life in prison. The former Penn State coach was found guilty earlier this year on 45 counts of sex abuse. Before the sentencing, Sandusky told the court, "I did not do these disgusting acts."

In the news: J.K. Rowling said over the weekend that the next book she writes is likely to be a children’s novel. Rowling’s most recent book, “The Casual Vacancy,” is an adult book and has been panned by critics.

Opening bell: The Dow Jones opened at 13,583.65, down 26.50 points Monday.

Odessa Clay is in trouble for tattooing the outline of a heart on her 11-year-old daughter. Clay reportedly says she didn't know it was illegal to have any person under the age of 18 get a tattoo, even with parental supervision, in her home state of North Carolina.
