In the news: A microbiologist says that your cellphone is most likely dirtier than a toilet seat. Why? Because people rarely – if ever – clean their phones. Charles Gerba of the University of Arizona said the germs on your phone aren’t a problem to you, but once your phone is shared, that’s where problems arise. Such as the case in Uganda where a man reportedly got Ebola from using someone else’s phone.

Happening today: Opening in theaters today are “Lawless,” “The Possession” and “The Oogieloves in the Big Balloon Adventure.”

Gas update: GasBuddy.com reports that the highest gas prices are in Michigan ($4.065), California ($4.134), Illinois ($4.166) and Hawaii ($4.302).

Motivational quote: “The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart.” - Helen Keller

Watercooler talk: Virgin Atlantic offering a trip to space

Virgin Atlantic is taking the frequent flyer program to the next level: space. The airline is now offering a "Galactic Status," and one lucky winner will embark on a sub-orbital flight on the new Virgin Galactic SpaceShipTwo.
