Victor Central School has named a lead architect to oversee a $28.7 million capital project. SWBR Architects will handle all building and site design for the improvements, which are scheduled to be completed in September 2014.
Renovations and additions will involve at all five district buildings, including 21 new classrooms, five new science classrooms, two new locker rooms and a new pool addition.
The pool addition will be sited at the south side of the existing high school and will complement campus architecture. An eight-lane stretch pool allowing for competitive swim meets and diving, it will also accommodate approximately 325 spectators.
The capital project is in response to Victor’s rapid growth in students. The district ranks number two in growth in New York State. The current FACTS Demographic estimates that VCS will have 5,000 students by 2019.
The Victor Central School District is a public high school that serves approximately 4,000 students from Victor and parts of Farmington, Perinton and Macedon.
