I’m still working my taxes and, thus, in a really bad mood. But my mood wasn’t elevated by reading Dave Leonhardt’s preview of “Taxmageddon.” The train wreck scheduled for Dec. 31, 2012, is truly scary and ought to be at the heart of the campaign.
The two charts with the article are even better, and I’d reproduce them here if I could. One shows how the tax burden has leveled dramatically from 1960 to 2004. The other shows the tax cuts scheduled to expire, and which income groups each benefits. Worth a few minutes study if you’re done with your taxes.
