“We’re missing a few, but if you’re here and we’re here, they’re here” -Bruce Springsteen 3/9/12
Not only did Bruce Springsteen scale the balconies in the Apollo Theatre like Spiderman last night, he and the E Street Band, rocked like it was the beginning of something great. With thousands of fans listening on SiriusXM and hundreds partying on twitter, last night’s performance was one to be remembered.
The night began with the songs we’d all predicted, ‘We Take Care Of Our Own’ and ‘Wrecking Ball’ and then quickly transformed into something we never expected. It was a night of soul, a night of folk, and a night of the gospel of Bruce Springsteen. The 20 song, 2 1/2 hour set, consisted of 8 songs from the new album “Wrecking Ball,” three songs from his 2002 album “The Rising” and one song off his acoustic 1982 album “Nebraska.” The rest were soul covers or Bruce’s famous hits from the mid-1970s, including ‘The E Street Shuffle.’ If there was any doubt whether a horn section would enhance the E Street Band, that doubt was dispelled.
Now, onto the world tour! And, onto the videos!
