How did you get involved with the Girl Scouts?
I've been involved for 10 years. I started out in "Daisies" when I was four years old.
How did you get involved with the Spa Day at Gilda's Club?
It started out as a project for my whole Girl Scout troop, but it seemed like too much to do. So I asked the troop leader if I could do it on my own as a project for my Silver Award. She was pretty happy about it.
What do you get out of being involved in the program? I like helping people who are touched by cancer. It has educational benefits and helps open my eyes to how some people are less fortunate. It makes you realize some things.
How do you balance all your time commitments?
I study a lot in school, and field band hasn't started yet, so I have time for Girl Scouts.
What do you do for fun?
I read any kind of books, I like watching TV and baking, my favorite show is "Cake Boss."
What’s on your iPod?
Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and whatever is on 98PXY
What’s your favorite food?
Pickle and cheese sandwiches
About the Spa Day at Gilda's Club: The spa day was held as part of earning the Girl Scout Silver Award. The day included a brunch, face painting and makeup, nail painting, lip balm making, head band and jewelry making, and yoga with a certified instructor.
The Girl Scout Silver Award is the highest award girls 11-14 can earn. The requirements to earn the Girl Scout Silver Award help girls build skills, explore careers, gain leadership skills, and make a commitment to self-improvement. Girls must also work either individually or with a group on a project that provides a service to the community.
